Insurance Options
Diamond has several insurance options available to our customers to protect against loses or damage during transportation and storage. We also provide our customers MA minimum legal liability coverage at no charge.
While specific insurance coverage can be tailored to special situations basic coverage is as follows:
Massachusetts Basic Legal Liability insurance is provided at no cost to our customers. The coverage is $0.60 per pound per article. Maximum coverage is determined by the weight of the shipment or the individual item within the shipment. Depreciated Value Coverage: Coverage is based on a declared total sum value. Each item is covered individually for replacement cost less depreciation based on the age of the items. The cost of this insurance coverage is $6.50 per $1000 of Declared Value. Customer must request coverage and declare value before move. Coverage in excess of $100,000 per truck must be quoted separately. There is a $1000 deductible Replacement Cost Coverage: Coverage is based on a declared total sum value. Coverage is for replacement cost. The cost of this insurance coverage is $8.00 per $1000.00 of declared value. Customer must request coverage and declare value before the move. Coverage in excess of $100,000 per truck must be quoted separately. There is a $1000 deductible. Storage Coverage: Protection provides transit coverage to and from storage and the first 30 days of storage. Additional charges per month after 30 days. Coverage protection in and out at the same cost as paragraphs b&c. Coverage for storage after 30 days is $2.25 per $1000.00. Coverage is for replacement cost less depreciated value for each additional 30 days. $3.75 per $1000.00. Coverage is for replacement cost for each additional 30 days. There is a $500 deductible. |
